The Nikuishkushtakan is the welcoming and meeting place for all visitors who come to Mashteuiatsh. It shelters the tourism office and is also a place where all local tourist development strategies start. Moreover, the Nikuishkushtakan logo illustrates very well the double mission to welcome, inform and guide visitors passing through the community, as well as putting in place measures to support the local initiatives aiming at an harmonious tourist development of our values as the only First Nation in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

The role of Nikuishkushtakan is to position Mashteuiatsh in the tourist industry as a «destination» in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. It encourages the recognition of the community’s artists and artisans by valorizing the artistic creativity of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh. The basic idea of Nikuishkushtakan is to create a physical territorial environment by calling on the knowledge and the artistic and technological expressions.
